Ding Dong, the witch is dead.... well maybe not but the old apartment will soon not be ours!
The bathroom is scrubbed, the kitchen clean, the fridge sparkling, the oven... well it's left the way we found it... with so much dirt baked on it just won't come off but it is as clean as it gets!, the walls are cleaned, the floors are moped and the carpet has been steam cleaned.
Let me just say that steam cleaning is not hard... we rented the machine and did it our selves saving $46.00 (that's over half the cost).
The Keys go back tomorrow and I can't wait... It has really been a thorn in our sides for a long time. I need to shower and relax... start to enjoy my summer...
I've even realized that if I wanted to go home for the summer that it just wouldn't have happened until next weekend at least. So I've made the right decision. Money isn't everything and we're having a great time.
I probably won't post again until after the weekend... and I'll have Canada Day pictures!

I'm still here!
I got my cookbook from Perri in the mail the other day and if you haven't gotten one yet, your missing out! GET ONE NOW... I love it... it's hard covered and it looks so pretty, but the best part is when your reading through the recipes almost all of them sound yummy. That's so hard to do because Andrew and I don't like pork (other than ham and bacon), onion, and celery. I just leave out the onion in the recipes that they are in. I'm not a fan of olives or most beans and peas either.... maybe we're picky but I find it easy to cook for us because we're similar!
Well this post is all over the place... I have to work 6 days in a row this week... but I have Sunday off and it's great! I'll still get paid because of the holiday and I have it off so I can enjoy Canada Day with Andrew and we can see the fireworks on the waterfront.

It's funny how you do things with no expectations and then...
You find out your a bit of a pioneer at your University.
Don't get me wrong... I'm not bragging, just a little flattered. I'm not sure how many of you have heard of Facebook but I have an account since Octoberish of 2006. I noticed that there was nowhere for my friends and I to chat on there about MUN our University. SO, I made a group and there was about 6 of us there for a week and then about 25 for a month and even then I knew most of the people in the group.
Well, after Christmas, Facebook fever hit like a wildfire in California... and now there are about 4500 people in that group.... there's only 15000 students at MUN so that's about 1/3 of the current population. (Although there are profs, future students, alumni and such so maybe it's more accurate to say 1/4 of the current population and then some "others").
A reporter from the Gazette contacted me yesterday. It seems she's doing a piece on Facebook for their next issue and she wanted to interview me being the creator of the "largest MUN group on Facebook." I kindly obliged and now I'm hoping she does a good job with the piece and takes my words and opinion in true context to what I gave her. I mean she does have poetic justice with her piece.
*NOTE* The Gazette is the School newspaper that is produced monthly by the administration at the University and slightly circulated so not many people read it but the MUSE is the Student Union's paper that is a weekly publication and widely read by the school population... so as you can tell I'm really not going to be a celeb any time soon lol.

A Quick Update... Should be back as regularly scheduled soon ;)
Well we've moved... sorta....
The U-Haul went really well we moved all our major pieces in one trip! That was very exciting. My cousin, her fiancee and a friend from home all helped...
Now we have to move out the dishes from the old kitchen... we have everything working here, 75% of stuff put away and nothing in the kitchen... not even any food really!
Plus I'm working 3 evening shifts in a row... yuk!
On a side note.... we still have to clean up the old apartment... the oven needs to be sprayed... the walls need to be washed, the carpets vacuumed and cleaned, and the floors moped. We also have a little touch up painting to do. The carpets would be done except the vacuum broke... I think it's just a belt but Andrew hasn't had time to look yet... (that's a definite "taking care of the wifey" chore).
Anywhoo... I'm off to put some stuff away, eat, pack lunch, make some sort of dinner, figure out a bus schedule and go to work... FUN!

The BIG BIG WEEKEND!
Well it's finally here! MOVING DAY(S)!
Today the new phone number, internet and DSL TV are being hooked up at the new place! So we can finally move in and be rid of this cursed apartment. We have to get "new" keys cut (See a couple of posts before for further explanation) and move in our furniture.
So obviously it's gonna take more than a day to move... Tomorrow I'm working but in the evening its back to moving things and Sunday it's the grande finale.... the U-Haul is being rented. There's just a few things you can't fit into a Hyundai Accent lol...
After we get moved into the new place and settled we still have work to do here. In our lease it says that we have to shampoo the carpets... and of course the bathroom has to be cleaned and the dreaded non-self-cleaning oven has to be cleaned (Uuurrrggg!.... I think I'd rather be shot). We also have a bit of touch-up painting to do. Living in a place for 2 years leaves a few nicks, dings and bangs... but we'd like to get our damage deposit back (so there's sneakiness involved).
We'll I'm off to shower and get down to the new place... I might not be back for a few days.... but that's ok because I'll be in my new apartment all tucked in!

Summer Reading Project....
I like to read... some may call me a geek others a nerd or a Bibliophile if they're real up-to-date on the lingo; however, I just like to read, plain and simple.
These are the books I recently bought to read this summer. I like to read true stories so 2 of these books (28 Stories of AIDS in Africa and a long way home) are true stories. About AIDS and the story of a boy soldier in Africa. I know they will rip my heart out but I still can't wait to read them. These types of books always make me thankful for what I have in my life.
The best life diet is a book that intrigued me. I'm hoping to lose some weight and maybe this will help. It has an excellent forward written by Oprah (I have read that part) and I think I'm going to enjoy it.
The Memory Keeper's Daughter is based on a true story about a Dr. that delivers his wifes' babies only to tell her their daughter (from a set of twins that was thought to be a singleton birth) died. In fact she had downs syndrome and he sent her to a home with one of his nurses. Little does he know the nurse keeps the baby. (and that's about as far as I've gotten). It's a little dry but I'm only just getting started! I'll give it a little more time yet.
The last book is the five people you meet in heaven and it's by the author who wrote Tuesday's with Morrie (Mitch Albom). I wasn't going to buy this book but I've been assured it was a great read so we'll see. It's not a long book either, only 200ish pages so on a good day it's a go!
Well I'm off to work... just thought I'd let you in on my Summer Reading.... I'd love to hear what you like to read too.... what have you challenge yourself to read this summer and why?
(I have decided to join the Summer Reading Challenge that I found... here's the badge... click on it and it'll take you to the homeblog)

Tee, You're a genius! Thanks again for that great post!
I read a post from a fellow blogger today that I absolutely adored and wholeheartedly agreed with. I wish everyone could see life like Tee, she just has an opinion so similar to my own it's scary. I have never met this woman and only seen the pics on her blog but reading her blog often gives me shivers and chills because it's so much my own thought train.
Check out her post here; it's awesome and so true!
After you read that post then you will understand my comment. (Which I am posting here)
Tee, even in my young relationship I have figured this out myself! I know that Andrew is not handy in the kitchen but he sure knows how to take care of the car (which I don't) so I feel relationships are give and take. I give him meals and he takes them, he gives me a well working machine and I drive it (lol). While it's not always this simple I have noticed when we do things for each other (gender related) or not we're happier. I love taking care of Andrew's needs; I don't do it because I have to but because I want to. I think that is the reason why at such a young age (both of us are 21) that Andrew and I have a successful relationship for almost 4 years now. We've grown with each other and are attentive to our needs individually and collectively.
You are so smart! You have voiced something I felt for a long time. We need to do things for each other even if we don't want to sometimes because gratitude is powerful thing in a relationship. I am so grateful for the things Andrew does for me and I know he is grateful for the things I do for him.
You are so right! When we are in a caring relationship everything is better. (I don't mean sex, although that is great too) but, loving, caring gestures go a long way in the run of a day.
Congrats on such a great post! Heartwarming and so true!!!
I posted my reply because it's my true feelings. I think too many people in this world are caught up in feminism instead of living their lives in ways that are true to their personal feelings and the dynamic their family has. I believe that we should all be more attentive to each other. When we do things for others altruistically we are repaid often 10 fold. I think we should all try to help others and make them happy. In a perfect world this would just be, but life isn't perfect and we need to work on it.
I just think that this is a wonderful post and Tee has such wonderful things to say. I truly enjoy reading her blog... Maybe, you should check it out too.

Stolen from a blog I stumbled upon... yesterday folks!
(Stolen from Don't Try This at Home... feel free to share and link on her page too!)
2/3. I want to have a place where I can tell about my life and recieve feedback from others in similar situations. I've found that I use my blog to help me in day to day life situations. I am becoming a teacher so I read homeschoolers blogs to see how they make it work everyday. I am not a mother (yet) but someday I hope to be and this is my way of research almost. But, It's become much more than that. I have a place where I can vent and a few very kind people who leave very heartwarming and helpful tips for my life. I appreciate them the most. This is also a place where I can seek God in a way that I'm comfortable with and use other people's lives and testimonies and use them to enrich my own path in life. We all have a walk with God in life it's just interesting to see where others go and how they get there.
3/4. I think my blog is about me, my life, and my trials and tribulations. I use my blog as the best-friend who will never tell. All those people out there that read my blog are my best friends that have the awesome advice that only friends could offer. So I don't think the focus of my blog has changed as such, it's grown with me. As my life changes so does my blog to suit my needs. (I hope I don't sound vein, because I'm not lol... really!) The best part about my best-friends are they are miles away. They see and do many things I could never imagine and their life trials and experiences are helping to guide me through my own life.
5. When I first started blogging I wish I knew how to add pictures and headers.... that took a long time and now I think I have it pretty much under control! (Well I try anyway!)
6. I don't make money with my blog and I don't want to... it's more like my virtual diary of sorts... although I admire people who can/do make money with their site. I tried ad-sense for a while but I gave up on that... I just hated it.
7. Well I guess you know the answer to this one... no, nobody in my immediate family knows about my blog... at least I never told them. I keep this one for me... like a diary. It's humbling to think that people in china and across the world can read my blog. I prefer the close anonymity I have going with the people I follow. There are 10-15 blogs that I read almost every day... there are 2-3 that I check a couple of times a day (I really enjoy their updates) and they are the only real people that know about my blog. I would like to have a bigger following but I don't want the stress of having to post something positive all of the time. I keep this blog for the real me.... and my weightloss blog for the real real me, the one that nobody ever sees.... the dark me, the parts that hurt me. My weight is my real nemesis at times. It is a struggle.
8. For new bloggers I would suggest;
1. Keep your posts short and simple and on topic at first.
2. Join some blogrings and read what others think, you'll find they'll respond to your posts too!
Tell Your Blogging Story
- 1. How did you start blogging?
- 2. Did you intend to be a blog w/a following? If so, how did you go about it?
- 3. What do you hope to achieve or accomplish with your blog? Have you been successful? If not, do you have a plan to achieve those goals?
- 4. Has the focus of your blog changed since you started blogging? How?
- 5. What do you know now that you wish you'd known when you started?
- 6. Do you make money with your blog?
- 7. Does your immediate or extended family know about your blog? If so, do they read it? If not, why?
- 8. What two pieces of advice would you give to a new blogger?

Wow... what a bad week...
10:30pm go to bed because you have to work in the morning
3:00 am Sunday/Monday morning.... dizzy stumbled into the bathroom used it and went back to bed... not feeling well just not knowing why... YET!
4:30am Sunday/Monday morning... wake up again... stumble into the bathroom in a dizzy stupor with a temperature of 102.1F (YIKES) but why? my throat doesn't hurt, my ears are fine and my nose isn't stuffy.... I do have a headache, and my skin hurts (which at the time I thought were both from the fever)
5:15 call in sick
All day lay in bed dying.... the fever won't come down below 99.8F.
6:30pm made my way to the emergency room.... the verdict SINUSITIS.... a sinus infection.... he also said to stay off work until Friday and wrote a note saying the same. Along with a script for some antibiotics.
10:00ish called boss and said "yeah Chris, I'm feeling a bit better, I'll try work in the morning" (really bad idea)
6:15am.... fever back at 101.7... get ready for work anyway....
8:00am boss sent me home for the day.... good thing too because the temperature was there all day and all night...
I'm now taking Advil every 4 hours to keep my temp at 99F...ish I hope the antibiotics work soon and I can feel better.... this is really starting to suck.... I can't even muster up enough strength to shower or wash my dishes. (Gross I know....)
NOTE: other bad things that happened this weekend
1) Andrew lost his bank card
2) Andrew found his bank card after it was cancelled
3) We got locked out of our new place
4) The key we had cut to our new place was cut wrong
5) The delivery guys scraped up the wood on our "new to us" sofa bed (which prior to their help was in great shape... now it's just ok shape)
6) The company who owns our old apartment want to do an inspection tomorrow and won't let us reschedule when it's highly likely that I will still be in bed/ on the couch asleep or loafing in a feverish state because we aren't moving out until the end of the month.
My prayer for this week is that I can be healthy and everything else will go smoothly with our move.
Does anybody else have weeks like this?
